The time management is among the most important topics in the project management, according to the Project Management Institute - PMI. Elaborate and follow a schedule in the implementation of a project is a major challenge for managers. This paper presents a study about the consequences of the implementation of software-based methodologies for estimating the duration of a project, in the process of modeling a schedule within the time management. The presented research is qualitative, bibliographical, exploratory and documental. The results show that, depending on their features and assumptions, applies a methodology can cause some variety of impacts. It is a consequence due to the expected duration of the project, which remains very similar. It was possible conclude that, from the definition of the role of resources, however, the differences in the estimated duration of the project undergo little variation
