The objective of this study is to evaluate the management of the outsourcing of information technology (IT) governance practices based on IT (GTI) through literature review and quantitative research organizations in Brazil. Several organizations face difficulties in the management of outsourced services and therefore adopt practices recommended by various models of GTI. The study on the nature of the relationship between best practices for IT management and results from the analysis of 37 models of governance, with specific 15 GTI, of which three models were chosen - vs.4.1 CobiT, eSCM-CL vs. 1.1 and ITIL vs.3 - they represent almost the totality of processes and actions of all other practices related to the GTI models. The instrument was applied at 299 managers of companies of medium and large industrial, commercial and service of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo and was conducted exploratory factor analysis. The final instrument contains 32 items that were distributed in five factors, namely: service strategy, service operations, monitoring services, supplier development and technological work. The research shows that most organizations use models GTI, and the large and mostly with a predominance of the ITIL framework.
