KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN THE LARGEST INDUSTRIES OF SANTA CATARINA

Resumo
The objective of this article is reflecting on the knowledge management in competitive organizations. The methodological line followed was the qualitative research, descriptive and applied. Seven of the largest industries of Santa Catarina in number of employees were researched by interviews and documental research. The data were analyzed by the technique of content analysis. The results of the study show that the analyzed enterprises develop several knowledge management actions. The enterprises are aware of the employees’ value due to de continuous improvement and competitiveness. In the most industries, the Human Resources action is strategic and decentralized, using the business partnership as support to people management processes. The enterprises that have the greater degree of autonomy and the greater degree of implementation are those where the processes are more shared, socialized and internalized by the employees, fostering the knowledge management with practices as coaching, competences management, team work, knowledge groups and others. This way, these organizations, so far as keep a structured program of knowledge management, they achieve learning, commitment and innovation.
