The article presents the results of a survey that aimed to characterize the scientific production on Usability published in Brazilian journals in the field of information science between the years 1993 to 2010. It analyses 18 journals, and contains only six of these production on the subject. We identified 12 articles related to the usability issue. Analyzes the articles in terms of: authors cited, subject / user type studied, nature / type of research and methodological approach adopted, data collection instrument used
