This article aims to analyze the motivating aspects and the resistance to the use of information technology by teachers at a higher education institution. The relevance of this work is by necessity of expansion of knowledge on the topic. The search is characterised as descriptive of survey and quantitative. The data were collected through a questionnaire composed of 15 statements, which involving four dimensions: the usefulness, ease of use, the pleasure and the resistance. A descriptive analysis and correlation between the variables was developed. Regard the profile of the teachers surveyed it was found that most of them are of masculine gender, with the age between 42 to 46 years. The master degree was predominant among the teachers surveyed. The variable usefulness reached the largest average value (6.20). The correlation coefficients between the four variables of the model were significant.
