The objective of the article is to analyze the contribution of the Nuclear Program of the Brazilian Navy (NPN) to the National System of Innovation(NSI). This study is classified as descriptive and exploratory as it seeks to characterize the process of project selection and the research methodology was based on technical literature, dissertations, doctoral theses, scientific articles, technical catalogs, site-specific and also on data arising from the information system of the own Navy of Brazil (NB). As a result of the research is evident in the great national effort to have the ability to manufacture its own nuclear fuel, without any external dependency, and knowledge to design and build nuclear power plants; as well as we detached the specific case of NB in developing his nuclear program and, to dominate the necessary technology to the project and construction of the submarine with nuclear propulsion.
