The society and the elderly: Interaction with the self-service terminals for banking

Resumo
The growing population of elderly in our country due to the increase in life expectancy due to the discovery of new medicines, balanced nutrition and medical monitoring, leads us to need to study and understand how the elderly will behave in relation to technology. The central purpose of this research is to study the interaction that the elderly have with the auto Teller Machine (ATM) of the Bank of Brazil, thereby detecting their difficulties and needs of banking service. The research is exploratory and descriptive. For the lifting of the data used is a structured questionnaire with a sample of 63 interviewees. The data show raised the profile of the elderly and how that interaction. The conclusion of this study is that, in general, older people have more difficulty at the time of use are precisely those that have a lower level of education, have incomes of less than 3 thousand Reais, but especially those who have shown they are more resistant the technologies
