The central theme of this work was the Information Systems applied in the Maintenance Management. The research of the impacts generated by the implementation of ERP system SAP / R3 - PM module - in the maintenance department of a steel industry, together with the description of the maintenance management process, were the goals of this work. It was adopted the case study methodology a research approach, and it was performed an analysis of the SI impact in the main activities of the maintenance management using the Likert scale. As a result, it was possible to check: improvements on control the maintenance activities process, the simplification the activities accomplishment and the growth in the information reliability and accuracy. We concluded that the impact generated by the new system has generated positive aspects in improving the maintenance management process.
