This article refers to a research about the impacts produced by the use of an Integrated System of Management (Enterprise Resources Planning - ERP) R/3 of the SAP, in the accounting area of the Usinas Sidergicas de Minas Gerais USIMINAS, with the following objectives: to evaluate the impacts of the use of an ERP system; to evaluate if the necessities of information for the countable management of the company were being supplied by the R/3; to enumerate the others alternative systems and complementary softwares used with the R/3 and to evaluate the satisfaction of the users of the Accounting with the system. The conclusion was that the R/3 supports the information necessities of the company in almost its totality. It was also possible to evidence the high level of integration in all departments of the organization, supplied by the R/3 SAP, contributing in a relevant way for the countable area valorization, one of the main sources of information in the scope of USIMINAS.
