Free software is an alternative of quality to the commercial model and wide used proprietor currently, it presents an ample gamma of options of high aggregate value. The objective of this research is to study as the use of softwares free facilitated to computerization in the Regional Court of the Work of 13th Region, reducing its costs. The research is characterized as a study of exploratory and descriptive case. One concluded that Free Software can really stimulate the computerization of the RCW of 13 th Region, and its use can generate saves of up to 50% in the annual budget of computer science of the RCW, in case that it extends the application of this solution to all its activities. It is standed out that adoption of softwares free, will go to require a constant update of the staff technician what it will be able to cause an increase of costs, moreover, the resistance of the users, the lack of training of the same ones and the incompatibility between applicatory will be able to make it difficult the success of the model.
