Resumo
This study deals with the use of the competitive intelligence (CI) for the environmental scanning (ES) in exporting companies. The objective is to evaluate trends that determine the use of the process of competitive intelligence in exporting companies located in the State of Ceará to help in decision-making. As a methodological resource, it uses as multi-case studies, composed by three of the largest exporting companies of the State. The results indicate that CI in OEC has already turn up, but in an informal apprenticeship, although a process of creation of a formalized model is appearing, here described in the case studies. The conclusion indicates the permanence of an informal vision in the process of competitive intelligence.
