THE LOGISTICAL PROCESS IN SMALL SUPERMARKETS AND THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Resumo
The changes that the retails has undergone and the intensive competition in the supermarket sector enabled the studies with the aim of evaluate use of information tecnology in a small supermarkets association having the logistical process as its main goal. Starting from a populations of 21 supermarkets belonging to a sale association located in the city of Fortaleza, a questionnaire has been conducted based in the Mahmood e Soon (1991) model, where the main goal was to select the companies that showed the best results as the use of investments in IT. Have gone through this exploring study, 2 companies and the sale association UNIFORÇA were selected to take port in the second phase of the impirical study, where, through the case study technique, it was investigated how this companies were using the IT in their logistical process. In general, it´s been started that those companie´s logistics are still in a non-integrated stage where the lack of intense use of IT limitates a lot of inflow of information. In this sense, it was possible to understand that the logistic information principles are partly met, at the same time as principal impacts of the IT in the logistics come up to the rise of productivity, innovation and flexibility
