Última alteração: 2015-01-06
Resumo
The objective of this paper is to present a framework for the evaluation of the impacts and of the possibilities of the new Information Technologies for the organizations. This evaluation considers the ways the organization use information for its activities. The proposed framework was developed based on a revision of the bibliography on the conceptualization of Information Technology, Information Systems and related Organizational Theory. As Mooney, Gurbaxani e Kraemer (1995, p.7) states, the business value of IT is a joint technology-organization phenomenon; therefore meaningful investigation of this phenomenon requires theoretical perspectives of both technology and organizations, and their interaction. Initially it will be discussed the role of information in organizations. Then, based on the roles of information presented, it will be discussed how can IT contribute to organization, configuring the model proposed by these paper.
