The changes in the economic scene in the last decades drove to business globalization. Many factors favored the expansion of foreign banks investment toward to Latin America. Facing this new reality, bank services had been updated and better availability according to the convenience that was required by their clients. The competition raised and a wave of banks merging and acquisition started a demand to adaptations of technological platforms to integrated solutions. This integration can be implemented according distinct strategies and it causes different impacts on internal and external levels.This work shows the conditions that have caused this expansion, determines the financial institutions challenges towards to integration of system platforms to support growing client demands and discusses the strategies and the impacts relative to these changes.
