Resumo

Literacy education for children with autism spectrum disorder represents a major challenge for society. The use of mobile applications can assist learning through innovative pedagogical practices for all users. This research presents an analysis of four mobile applications aimed at children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). This analysis was based on testing techniques and software quality, to analyze the way mobile applications are being developed in terms of quality and whether the final version meets the target audience. A bibliographical search was also carried out on studies and research on the literacy process of children with ASD. This study analyzed four applications available on the digital services Google Play and App Store, intended for devices with Android and IOS operating systems. To carry out the study of the applications, interface and functional tests were carried out, where functional testing techniques and UI tests were applied, with the purpose of evaluating the Apps. The applications evaluated were: the “Jade Autismo” app, which, due to the need to register for access, leaves usability somewhat impaired; The “Matraquinha” app, the most functional, due to its simple and intuitive design; the “ABC Autismo” app is one of the most complete because its activities include a level of learning focused on literacy, and the “Aut App” app has more direct communication with the user due to its main character. In conclusion, all apps presented good learning opportunities for children with ASD.
