The academic research area was impacted by increased production and availability of content on the Web. As a positive point, the production is somewhat better supported, however, the large amount of material available makes the research’s tasks more arduous, for the researcher. According to this context, this research aims to identify the features necessary for the creation of a Semantic Wiki for application in the management of academic research projects. The survey was conducted based on secondary data extracted from systematic review of the literature, in particular Science Direct database. As a result, it was indicated a new architecture that includes the features raised from the survey of the literature: high storage capacity; resemblance to the social network with users as central network vertices, however with the interaction focused on document; documents representing the interests of research, experience, affiliations and links to web-based tools; core (kernel) of the traditional Wiki; support for Semantic Web technologies such as RDF and OWL; inference machine; version manager of texts; metadata for navigation; ontology-based research; access control; pages for discussion; content notes; assisted notes; ontology editor and, finally; reading and writing of ontology.
