The Information Technology Management (ITM) focuses interest in the appropriation of knowledge about the steps that govern the institutions, the integration of technologies to human activity, in emerging demands of a socio-productive context. Since the beginning of the century, we see the spray of the different thematic perspectives and research. The ITM study should consider building concepts to support learning logic on its genesis, environment, integration and projection, allowing understanding that goes beyond the instrumental appropriation, leading to a scenario of strategic and conceptual value. For this work, is located ITM, in the context of management, technology and information, in addition to the dismemberment and entanglements with information management, information governance, technology management, technology governance and other approaches. The study aims to present a guiding path for research on ITM, when looking at the different perspectives of the authors, experience reports, models and conceptual proposals for the construction of theoretical frameworks. The methodological process is intertwined with the theoretical framework, addressed dynamically, considering inferences about the issues raised by the authors and establishing propositions considered relevant the issue through the results. The approach of this research is qualitative, exploratory and descriptive. Resorted to literature, inserting the concepts of heuristic strategies and information literacy. As a result, the study shows that there is yes, concern and dedication of professionals and researchers understand how originates, develops, evaluates and makes the ITM, though not realize is clearly the establishment of a knowledge network on the subject, but fragments and organized a central idea about the information technology and their social integration.
