Resumo

Currently the use of information technology as a strategic tool in business management, investments are needed in the area at all times. Is there any method in the field of economic knowledge can evaluate this return ? Using the concept of economic evaluation known as ROI (Return On Investment ) , it is possible to have a measurement of that return . This paper will examine this concept and its implementation difficulties . This study was based on a literature through articles , monographs , books , and its concepts are drawn from material published by Intel company as electronic document , data were extracted from webpages experts. Data analysis was based on the theoretical framework of contemporary books and authors that discuss this topic . The results indicate that there is a necessity and importance of applying the concept of Return on Investment within companies . It was concluded that most of them do not adopt this methodology due to the limited time available , lack of availability and interest of managers , company culture , complexity of the concepts applied and lack of financial resources , therefore, to be a time consuming and expensive task using the ROI as a way to prioritize projects .
