Resumo

Characterized by rapid and constant change, the strategic use of information is a competitive advantage that should be used in decision-making. Because of this highly competitive market increasingly requires enterprise agility in their decision making. The integrated use of competitive intelligence to the management of information and knowledge to use aggregated Business Intelligence in decision-making becomes extremely important for organizations that desire leadership and its permanence in the current market. Thus, the aim of this work is to identify the understanding of managers about the use of competitive intelligence in the integrated management of Information Technology as a Business Intelligence at a Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology. This study is based on the model proposed by Dalfovo (2007), which it integrates a system of Competitive Intelligence with Information Management and Knowledge (ICGIC). The target audience for this study included managers from the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina. It was adopted quantitative descriptive methodological design, which aimed to examine the frequency relationships and quantitative data obtained through a questionnaire with a Likert scale of five points. The results showed that despite the organization studied using few tools of Business Intelligence in decision-making, the understanding of managers was positive in relation to knowledge management and information management.
