The Stage Gate Process, model originally developed for application to design of new product development is able to provide a structured method for internal decision taken at the end of each phase of the life cycle of projects, aiming to ensure full compliance of its requirements, acceptance criteria and the strategic alignment of the organization's portfolio. From a single case study, this article has as goal, to analyze the process of customization of this model applied to industrial automation projects, results presented as the benefits and limitations associated with their use in the organization under study.
